Mountain Bike Recovery Drinks

After a long day of mountain biking through a thick, lush and technical park the first thing that most people want to do is be refreshed by grabbing a cold drink and dinking it all very quickly. I know that at least for myself, I keep water with me when I'm riding on a hot humid day in the summer time and drink whatever is left of it right after I get done mountain biking.

There are plenty of recovery drinks on the market and they are easy to find. You can find them at your local grocery store, but mainly at an athletic store such as a sporting goods store, bike shop, running shoe store and I'm sure there are plenty of others. What is good about drinking a recovery drink right after mountain biking is that recovery drinks such as Gatorade, Powerade is that they are already to be consumed right after opening them up. There are also drinks that come in the form of a powder and all you have to do is fill up a glass with water and mix in the recommended amount of powdered drink mix and you are all set. After I get done with a long grueling run, mountain bike, road ride, or race I personally prefer the PowerBar Orange flavored Recovery drink mix. I take a tall glass of orange juice and mix in a scoop of this drink mix and then stir it around and then I am then recovered from the workout that I have just logged.

Being that every mountain biker is different, you may want to try a few different recovery drinks before you ultimately decide witch one is best for you. For example, what you could do is try a drink from your grocery store, one from a bike shop and lastly a drink that comes as a powder that has to be mixed up and see which one is best for you.
